A New Zealand answer to data brokers

Why we built it

Most data broker removal services are built for the United States and sold here as an afterthought. We wanted a service that focuses on the brokers that actually serve New Zealand and Australia and treats New Zealand privacy law as the starting point, run by people you can reach in your own time zone.

Who runs it

Redacted is operated by TechMedics Ltd, an IT services and cybersecurity business based in North Canterbury, New Zealand. We look after networks, servers and security for local businesses, and we built Redacted on the same principles: collect only what's needed, lock it down, and be straight with people about what we can and can't do.

How we work

• Honest about results. We tell you what each broker has done, including when a broker hasn't responded.
• Minimum necessary. Brokers get only what they need to find your record. We never send your date of birth.
• Encrypted by default. Personal details are encrypted at rest, and staff access is logged.
• Your authority, on record. We act only with your written authority, and you can download the record of it at any time.
